Our Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) training course is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate MEWPs, such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and cherry pickers. These platforms are commonly used in industries like construction, maintenance, and warehousing to perform work at height.
Course Overview
Introduction to MEWPs:
- Types of MEWPs (e.g., scissor lifts, telescopic booms, articulating booms).
- Common uses and applications in various industries.
- Regulatory requirements and guidelines (OSHA, ANSI, or local standards).
Safety Awareness:
- Understanding of the risks associated with working at heights.
- How to identify potential hazards in the working environment.
- Safe working practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage (harnesses, helmets, etc.).
MEWP Operation:
- Pre-use inspections and maintenance checks.
- Basic controls and components of MEWPs.
- Safe operation practices (stability, positioning, handling of materials while elevated).
Emergency Procedures:
- What to do in the event of equipment malfunction or emergency situations.
- How to use emergency descent and rescue equipment.
Load Capacity and Stability:
- Understanding weight limits and safe load distribution.
- Ensuring proper platform stability (avoidance of tipping or collapsing).
Practical Training:
- Hands-on experience operating different types of MEWPs.
- Demonstrations of correct use of controls and navigation through different environments.

Certification and Evaluation:
